I didn't just walk into Reno's Barnes and Noble bookstore after driving 2 1/2 hours, I skipped! I found a rack with the latest Nevada Magazine and proceeded to count out 20 magazines. Once in line, I realized I selfishly wanted to buy all the magazines they had but I knew I'd never mail out 20 to my current fan base: dear friends and family. Plus the expense of the magazines kept me sane. It's $4.95. It's been years since I had something published in a magazine. That experience, which lasted for several years, never got old. Those adventures taught me to think like a creative spirit and to trust my instinct. Those small paychecks paled next to the sheer thrill of seeing something of mine (photo or prose) in print! This time it just so happens to be a picture of a 1915 fault scarp that accompanied a cover story! Deep Breath. This only inspires me to take more photos, to submit more photos, and most of all to appreciate the feel of said Nevada Magazine in my hand!
