On The Cover of the Rolling Stone

September 18, 2017

     ...is the thrill that'll gitcha...

Shel Silverstein and Dr. Hook knew what they were doing when this song hit...and yes, I'm aging myself by admitting I know every word to every verse.

Five years ago my photography centered around showcasing majestic cathedrals, hardworking cowboys, and the forgotten value of a modern day mom and pop business.  These stories were easily told through a simple lens, nothing fancy. My goal was surreal, quite lofty indeed: the cover of the Nevada Magazine.

Five years ago I watched my photos of people, places and events grace page after page of the local Community Living Magazine. It was excellent PR. It made our northern Nevada existence known. That experience opened doors, but most of all it filled me with practical skills. With each series of photos I edited, I felt more determination to see more of my photographs in print.

So imagine my complete happy dance and shrill when the Nevada Magazine chose to include my American Bison snapshot along with 39 other Great Nevada Photo Contest photos to represent the wonders of Nevada on their new limited edition map! What a honor participating with so many other fine art photographers! This map will be sold as a poster folks! Yep, be prepared to buy a few for Christmas gifts...just sayin'!

     It gets better!

The poster, is on the current COVER of the NEVADA MAGAZINE!

A huge, giant, rock*my*world shoutout to the superhero #nvmag staff that helps those of us loving Nevada a frame at a time get recognized! Thank you!
